The 100 Day Challenge, Day 89:

One of the most important traits of a great coach is their ability to ask great questions!  You can learn to do this for yourself, too, though I do notice that a coach will tend to ask you tougher questions, or questions that you did not think of.  Your coach comes from a perspective outside of you, so it is natural that it would happen that way!

Here are a few tips to get started with asking yourself great questions:

-Begin your question with “what” or “how”

-Be sitting quietly with pen and paper and at least a few uninterrupted minutes to really be able to think about the question.

-Write down your questions and your answers.

Here are a few questions to get you started- some are from a book I would suggest to you called Ask and You Will Succeed by Ken D. Foster, and some are my own.  You can make up your own questions all day long, this will just jump start your questioning brain!

-How can I reach my fullest potential in the area of ________________?

-What can help me to overcome the obstacle of _______________?

-What is important about _____________?

-How can I think about _____________ in a new way?

-How can I find someone to help me with ______________?

-What have I done in the past that can help me to believe I can do ________________?

-What actions can you take today to change your financial situation today?

-What keeps tripping you up in your professional life?

-How do you want to contribute in the world, in your community?

-What other questions would you like to ask yourself?

Use all of the areas of your life to pull ideas for questions from.  Have fun with this!
