There is something that I hear Valorie Burton say consistently, and it perks my ears up every time she says it:
“Decide to be happy, just as things are now.”
What strikes me about that statement is that it is a decision.
Sometimes we think we have to wait: If this happens, then I will be happy. When that happens, then I will be happy.
Her statement opens up the door to- I can be happy right now, on the way to those things happening.
We can choose.
