I get so excited about taking on a good challenge! I got to witness yesterday how good someone can feel when they take on something challenging- when they do it! What comes afterward is an unmatched feeling of goodness toward yourself. Feeling proud of yourself. When was the last time you felt proud of yourself?

These are the things that build resilience and help us when life’s challenges take us by surprise- filling your tank full of good feelings and confidence that you can take on challenging things.

Start here: What on your list of things to do, or your master list (what I like to call it) that has been lingering there for a while? What is stopping you from doing it and getting it checked off? What is challenging about it? Pick something.

Now that you have picked it and defined what is challenging you about it. (and determined that it is still important to you- if not cross off or delegate) now you are ready to break it down. How will you just go for it and in the spirit of spring, productivity, cleaning things up and clearing things out- take that first step?

What is the thing?

What obstacles are getting in the way?

What are your next three steps to get it moving forward? Define these clearly.

When will you take the first step? Put it into your calendar.

Schedule in your next two steps. If it is not something you can write into your calendar, then the step is still too big. Chunk it down. What piece of that is next?

Discern what help you need, who can help you? Reach out today.

What is your deadline to finish this particular thing? What results are you looking for along the way and once you are finished?

Start with one thing, then go to the next when this is in full swing. When you take time to look carefully at your list, break things down and confirm their importance, you start to live a life on purpose rather than by default. Use the energy of a new season, month, quarter to spur you ahead toward momentum. You will build even more energy. And enjoy the process!
