There is so much happening in every corner of life, there is always a new lesson to learn, another mess to be cleaned up, self improvements to be made, good to do in the world. Endless. And most of it is important.
However, I am advocating, just for this week, to take a beauty break. A challenge. Take a break from trying to fix or solve anything or to even think about fixing or solving anything, unless it is a true emergency. At the same time set a goal to identify a minimum of 5 things that you find beautiful each day.
Just noticing is the win. Writing them down is extra credit.
See how you can broaden your view of what is beautiful throughout the week. It could be things, people, clothing, flowers, nature. It could be a job well done, something that feels beautiful, a puzzle, a great story, a design, a sight. It can be how something is decorated. Artwork.
As you begin, ask yourself:
–What makes something beautiful to you?
–What is your favorite way to take in beauty?
–What do you/can you create in your life that is beautiful?
–Who would you like to share beauty with?
–Where can you go to see beauty?
That’s it- a simple message for this week. What you focus on expands. This week, take your focus off from what has become habitual thinking and noticing and break some patterns by focusing on beauty all week- and maybe beyond.
At the end of the week ask your self:
–What was the best part of this challenge?
–What was the most challenging?
–What was your favorite beautiful thing you noticed?
–Who did you share beauty with?
Take a big breath.
