The 100 Day Challenge, Day 30:

I love to read books on business and leadership- I’m a junkie!  I get excited about new thoughts and ideas.  No matter what, though, everything always seems to boil down to the basics.

There is one truth that seems to show up in most leadership books I have read.  It is expressed in many different ways, but basically it is this:  Leaders are listeners.  True leaders spend more time listening and paying attention to others than they do talking.  A truly successful leader lets others be heard in conversation and in meetings.

If you are a leader (and we all are in some way- with or without a title), how much time did you spend today listening as opposed to talking?  Are you satisfied with that?  If not, how will you go about changing that and when?
