This week I am going to send you off on your own business reset. Whatever your chosen path of working in the world is (and this means in the home, too) a reset can help us to reconfirm, recommit and reinvent.

I encourage you to use a reinvention mindset as you do your retreat. Take an hour, or three- plan time somewhere you love and feel uplifted and will not be distracted. Make this reset time enjoyable.

Reinvention mindset quick take for your purposed here- make three lists regarding your business:

Start here:

-What is working well that you will keep doing.

-What is no longer working (be honest and give it gratitude that it did once work) and would be best to let go of.

-What new possibilities can you and would make sense to add into the space left by those things removed?

Next, these are some of the questions that are asked on the Happiness intake form I use with clients. Take time to really think and answer them fully, writing out your answers by hand in a retreat notebook you will create for yourself.

How happy are you with the work you are doing, the position you have? If so, celebrate and then think about how you will continuously reinvent so that you can keep your happiness level with it. If you’re not happy- what are you doing to either make it better or move to something else that you want to do?

What is your belief around the work you are doing- how well you do it and your ability to get better at it?

Have you set goals to grow and do more and you proceed through your career? Are there positions you aspire to? Are you are entrepreneur that would like to grow your business in some way? Or maybe reinvent the business to do less and be more profitable? And anywhere in between.

Have you created a learning plan to keep you growing and expanding your knowledge and ability? If so, reconfirm it and if not start      to create something that is exciting to you. If you are thinking about doing something else, what type of learning or training will you need in order to make the leap successfully? What do you need to know?

What can you celebrate right now about this area of your life? What are you grateful for? (think about your entire career, not just right this minute.)

Where could you embrace change more?

What are your ideas for creating exciting new ideas for you at your job, work, career?

How can you reinvent yourself, even if circumstances don’t change?

What other questions would you like to ask yourself? When I do a reset I like to take a look at the way I have been organizing my work week and my schedule looking for ways to reinvent that. I look at my process for anticipating, creating and implementing change- a big cornerstone of reinvention.

When you finish, write a list of the top 5 things you want to think about and make progress on. It doesn’t mean the other things aren’t important, it is a place to begin. Which one will you start with first? What is the first step. Get this into your schedule today and get the momentum building started! My clients and I work on these things together, I give them accountability so that they keep going.

I hope you enjoy your reset. Know that much more than what I am asking will come out of this very important time.
