All month long I have been all about the word yes! This blog post is the grand finale!
A tool to use in making sure that your weeks are filled, first and foremost, with the things that mean the most to you.
Making an “absolute yes list” will enable you to remind yourself what you want to keep in mind each week as you plan.
Give yourself 30 or so minutes to sit with pen and paper at a time when you won’t be distracted and you are relaxed. Make a list of all of the things that are important for you to engage in, in a given week. Add everything you think of, big or little, to the list.
Once you have it, go through a get your absolutes off the list- make a separate list: Your Absolute Yes List. (AYL)
I suggest that my clients do their weekly planning on Sunday afternoon for the week ahead, or on Saturday if your official week starts on Sunday. When planning, start with your AYL first- get those things into your schedule before it fills up with other things that you think you SHOULD do, but are not as meaningful as the AYL items.
When you plan and keep a schedule, it also makes it easier to say no to things that do not even show up on your list, or at least to be mindful in thinking about what you agree to.
Try this today! No time like the present! Give it a few weeks to start to feel comfortable. Enjoy starting to see how your intentional living experience unfolds!
