As I continue to work with my theme of refresh this month, I am thinking a lot about time. Maybe it is spring cleaning mode, but I am feeling the urge to shake things up and change my schedule a bit. Refreshing your schedule can be exhilarating– when was the last time you did it?
If you haven’t yet made your list of what activities are vital to you and your life, I highly suggest it. My VITAL list is such a guide for me to make sure I am spending my time on the things that are most meaningful to me. Making the list is step one, using is it step two.
If you want to design the life you dream of, this is how you do it. Whatever it is that you want in your life, make sure that when you plan your week, you have actions scheduled and that you are taking to move you in the direction of your goals. Using your time on purpose.
Start to really discern where you are spending your time and how it benefits you. I love the idea of being the curator of my life. It is not up to anyone but me.
When I hear people say they don’t have time, it 99% of the time really means they have not designed their life in such a way that the thing they don’t have time for is a priority.
Make the plan, follow it, don’t second guess it until after a good trial period (because if you are changing habits, it just might feel wrong at first.), and if you get off track, just get back on as soon as you realize it! Don’t beat yourself up about it- the only mistake is not getting right back on track.
So this week, be intentional- look at what’s vital, necessary, most important! Make your list and start planning and doing those things that are vital for you, your happiness, and your well being.
