Kenny Loggins sang it best- this is it! Here we are on the eve of the last month of another year.

How has this year been for you? A big question, I know!

One of the most important things to do at this point in the year is to make some big decisions. Many people decide that the holidays make everything too busy and so they don’t plan to get a lot done- and feel justified in that. It may be true, just make sure you’re not shortchanging yourself or 2025! When I was in the real estate business we had a running joke that the holidays started at Halloween for most Realtors. People decided the year was over and stopped all of their business building activities, causing them to have to start building momentum all over again in January. Those who kept going did a lot of business in December and brought it into January.

Another choice is to double down on the time left this year. The idea of finishing strong to start strong has always appealed to me. Bringing strong energy to the finish line, and then starting fresh with that positive energy already flowing. Momentum still moving. Keep your habits going, keep your consistent actions going. This will call for careful, thoughtful planning each week for each day and sticking to your plans. Find someone to hold you accountable to what you say you will do.

Back to decisions- make some today. What do you really want to finish, start, experience, enjoy, make time for in December? Write it all down. Out of all of that- what is the most important thing? You only get one December 2025 in your life.

If you haven’t started strategizing some goals and plans for 2026, now is a great time. I heard recently “strategy = choices.” Start by getting out a notepad and writing out all of your possible choices in each area of life. Don’t get hung up on “how could it happen?” or “is it possible?” or “do I really want to?”- just write out all of the choices to consider.

For this week- what steps will you take to move forward toward what is most important in December? Get them into your schedule now. How much time do you need? Who can help you? What do you need in order to make progress? What obstacles might you encounter and how will you work with those?

Take time to think about this questions, write your answers and see what else comes up for you.
