If you’ve been following along over the past 8 weeks, you have at least thought about the 8 areas of your life. Now what?
If you haven’t already asked yourself, in each area:
–Where am I at in this areas on a scale from 1-10?
–What would make it a 10?
–What are my first few steps to take in order to move toward the 10?
And after writing out your answers the next things would be to determine your intentional balance. Not a balance where everything is equal- I haven’t ever met anyone who had the perfect balance figured out- but intentional balance- that is a beautiful thing.
What does this mean? It means that when you look at the areas of life, you decide which one or two areas you are most focused on right now given the season of life you are in. AND it means not forgetting the other areas. Where you might have many goals in one area, or a big project in one area, the others still have goals, just not so many.
Where people go wrong is in focusing on one area and they neglect the others. Like working long hours at work and not spending time on their health or time with their family.
Set aside time to really think about these things. Every month I write goals in each area of life. I also add a category called lifestyle which is about the things I want to see, go to, experience, etc during the month. Where I want to spend my time, dress, flowers, mindsets- anything that doesn’t exactly fit into any category.
I suggest looking at these areas at least once a week– my minimum is on Sunday afternoon. As I plan my week ahead, I make sure that my activities reflect me going toward my 10’s. I also have the opportunity to add, subtract and reflect on how I did on the previous week. The main thing, as they say on Insight Timer, is that consistency is where real change begins. Consistency is always important, but specifically being consistent with the RIGHT things, mindsets, actions. Check yourself consistently to make sure you are going in the direction you want to go in!
