Fixed or growth? That is the question! In the positive psychology world, these two mindsets are talked about a lot. One- growth- is supportive to you living a happy and expansive life. The other- fixed- limits what is possible and your experience.
A growth mindset allows you to see challenges as an opportunity to learn, views critical feedback as useful and is inspired by the success of others. On the other hand, a fixed mindset sees challenges as problems to be avoided, views critical feedback as something to ignore or take offense to and is threatened by the success of others.
Be honest and assess the mindset you might be operating from at this time. No judging yourself if fixed is what you find- it’s just where you are at now. Awareness is the key, and with that you can change.
Make an intention to purposely change your mindset one step at a time. Pick one area to work on and begin with that. Know that all of the work you do will benefit you in all areas. When you change and strengthen your mindset- it applies to everything.
A growth mindset will help you to live life to the fullest and to really be able to be everything you can be. It is worth the struggle and discomfort you will experience as you grow toward a growth mindset.
