What’s in store for you? First, allow yourself to write and speak what you WANT in the next quarter, the last quarter of 2025. Leave aside all thoughts about why it can’t happen and let yourself believe.
Right now, write down what you want between now and the end of the year. I find it helpful to use the 8 areas of life as a guide for me in my thinking.
Mental/Intellectual, spiritual, community, social, family, financial, business and health are the areas I use. I also add to this list: places I am going to go and things I am going to do, people I want to spend time with.
Now, back up for a moment to this past quarter- July, August and September. Do a quick review. (Or a long review!)
-What went well? What not so well? -What did you experience and learn? -What goals are still valid? -What is complete or no longer important? -What did you enjoy the most?
Thinking about the quarter ahead:
-The things that you enjoyed most in the past quarter- how can you create more of that? -How will you put what you have learned to use in the next quarter, leading you strongly into a new year? -When you get to December 31 and you exclaim- “this was a great quarter!” , what will have happened to make that true?
Handwrite all of this out!
Remember that theme for this year that you came up with in January (or before)? Is it still valid? Are you remembering it in your days and weeks? If you forgot about it, is it time to bring it back to life? If you never wrote one, create one for the 4th quarter. A word that will guide your next three months. Or maybe you did write one, but you want a new one now- go for it!
After going through all of this thinking- work on your October goals. How do you break down the overall picture into chunks and actions you will take in the next month? What will you do to move yourself in the direction of your goals? Each week you will schedule in the actions you will take- right into your schedule. How will you use your theme in each area of life this month? Write it down.
Take the list of places to go and people to see and things you will do and look at the whole month. Where will you schedule these things in. If it doesn’t get into your calendar, it likely will not happen.
Careful planning, consistency, intentionality- this is what is going to help you to have a strong finish to 2025. You will need a lot of great energy, so what will it take for you to create that within yourself? What changes must you make?
